Panic Attacks After Drinking Alcohol
If you are having panic attacks after
drinking alcohol then I feel sorry for you!!!! Why do I feel sorry for you? Well this is typically known as the
beer fear. And it is the worse possible thing that can happen to you.
"I had a four hour panic attack after
drinking and the experience was absolutely horrendous. Did it come from no where yes. Could I deal with it no. The
problem here is making sure that if you do suffer from panic attacks then you do something about
it."
From my experience this one episode went onto
periods of anxiety and depression. Which I wouldn't wish upon anyone. You can find out more about me on the
homepage where I offer help.
So onto the issues with alcohol. You have had
what you think is a great night out then you wake up in the morning, you feel shaky, sick and your heart is
pounding.
Most of this is down to the fact that you are
dehydrated. Your mind plays tricks on you when it is not performing properly. Especially if you have also had a
lack of sleep as well. The best thing to do is follow the tips below on how to prepare yourself for the next day I
give below.
It is a horrible feeling when you wake up
panicky - So next time be prepared and you will hopefully be feeling better the next time you go
out.
These are some of the reasons of why panic
attacks after drinking alcohol occur.
- You wake up and you can't remember
anything. Quite typical in today's booze culture.
- You know you did something stupid but
you can't remember what.
- You have mixed your drinks quite a
lot.
- You were acting an idiot and you know
you where.
- You were arguing with someone about
something you know you shouldn't have been arguing about.
- You were feeling vulnerable before you
went out
- You did nothing at all and had a great
night you just feel crap in the morning and suffer from anxiety.

The above are just a few things but generally
I find that the problem with alcohol is that it completely dehydrates you and the fact you probably started
drinking on an empty stomach in the first place is not good.
So the next day you spend all day on the sofa
not wanting to go anywhere, walking like a spaceman everywhere you go because it feels like your going to fall
over. Is it any wonder you get panic attacks after drinking alcohol now. Most people I would say including myself
tend to go over the top from time to time we just need to learn a few things.
Here are my tips on avoiding panic attacks after alcohol
- Always eat before you go out on the
binge. If not eat when you are out.
- Try lining your stomach with a glass of
milk or yoghurt before going out.
- Never ever go out without having the
following near you the next day
-
- Dioralyte - a rehydration
formula you should drink as soon as you wake up
- Paracetamol - for your
headache
- Neurofen - for your banging
headache
- Fruit or fruit juice to
rehydrate quickly
- Drink as much water as you can when you
get in.
- Apologise to whoever you
upset.
- Do not drive as you will be likely be
over the limit.
- Set expectations with your partner that
you will be no good for anything the next day - so no chores, just feet up and get
better!!!!!!!!
- Go to the pub again and have the hair of
the dog.
All these items above are just meant to
be tips and are not to be taken literally but if you have suffered from the beer fear
yourself then it is highly likely that you will find some of these items helpful.
